Emotional and behavioral disorders in children can be hard to detect, as not every child reaches the same emotional and developmental milestones at the same time.
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by eating large amounts of food—known as binging—and then taking steps to avoid gaining weight from that food—known as purging.
Anorexia nervosa distorts a person’s perception of their own body image and causes them to take whatever measures they feel are necessary so that they do not gain any weight.
